“The Costa Blanca will become the European capital of gastronomy for a few days,” said the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, César Sánchez, at the MARQ (Archaeological Museum of Alicante), during the presentation of Alicante Gastronomic. He also stressed that “Alicante is the legitimate representative of the Mediterranean diet because of our products, our competitiveness, our professionals and our privileged climate”.

Thus arises the first meeting of Mediterranean lifestyle, which proposes a healthy diet based on products of the province complemented with physical activity. On May 4, the gastronomic event begins at IFA (Institución Ferial Alicantina), where 16 Michelin Stars as well as several Soles Repsol will gather in a full program of activities such as tastings, masterclasses and children’s workshops. The main objective of Alicante Gastronómica is to spread the balanced lifestyle of our land in which Alicante products take center stage, among which stand out: the mollar pomegranate, the artichoke from the Vega Baja, the medlars from Callosa d’en Sarrià, the bagged grape from Vinalopó, the dates from Elche… and, of course, without forgetting the sea and the orchard.

If you are a fan of the Mediterranean diet or want to start leading a healthier life, you can’t miss Alicante Gastronómica from May 4 to 7, 2018. The entrance is completely free and you can download it at the following link:
