M de Alejandría icewine: tradition and innovation

The Entrepreneur Cristina Rodríguez, finalist of ‘Challenge Rural Woman 2018’ with her most personal proyect, launches her second harvest of sweet ice wine from Teulada.

Cristina Rodríguez at the head and hear team Ximo and Dani Cabrera, fourth and fifth generation of ‘Uvas Cabrera de Benissa’, in charge of all the pampering of the vineyard, as well as, Daniel Belda, oenologist and vine grower, have taken a step further in the elaboration of a sweet wine, so rooted in this region, as is the wine M of Alejandría, where tradition and innovation come together.

The M wine of Alejandría project was born four years ago and in 2017, after its first harvest, it came to market with 1.200 bottles of ice wine in a limited and numbered series.

From the first moments they wanted to take full care of all the details, from the plantation, to the elaboration and presentation of the bottle, creating a wine with their own identity. Cristina Rodríguez explains; “I am very respectful of tradition but I think that innovation is essential, besides, I am convinced that one of keys to success is differentiation. That´s why we decided to work with a unique variety to make a unique wine: an ice wine made throught a freezing process carried out in the same winery”.

Undoubtedly, an unique, special wine, from a small parcel and made with all the love of the land and its roots, same roots of Cristina Rodríguez, that since she was young she has been able to feel in her home environment.
